By using CurioByte, you agree to these Terms. Our goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and high-quality learning environment.

1. Service Description

CurioByte provides daily curated micro-learning content. We select high-quality educational videos, articles, and podcasts from around the web and organize them into "cards" for your discovery.

2. Account & Usage

  • You must provide a valid email to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account secure.
  • The service is intended for users 13 years of age and older.

3. Content Rights

Our Content

The app design, curation logic, original summaries, and "CurioByte" branding are owned by us. You may not copy or redistribute our proprietary content without permission.

Third-Party Content

CurioByte is a discovery tool. We link to external content (YouTube videos, articles, podcasts) which remains the property of its original creators. We do not claim ownership of these external works.

4. Disclaimer

We strive to curate only verified, high-quality sources (universities, museums, experts). However, we are not responsible for:

  • The accuracy of opinions expressed in external content.
  • Changes to or removal of content by the original creator.
  • The privacy practices of third-party platforms (e.g., YouTube) once you leave our app.

5. Free Tier & Premium Subscriptions

Free Tier

CurioByte is free to use. Every user receives 5 fresh bytes every day at no cost, with full access to their content and sources. No purchase is required to use the app.

Premium

CurioByte Premium is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks your full searchable Collection, Listen (audio mode), and one extra byte beyond your daily five. It is offered in two plans:

  • Monthly: auto-renewable, billed every month.
  • Annual: auto-renewable, billed every year, including a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.

Current pricing for your region is always shown in the app and on the App Store before you confirm any purchase.

By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Free Trial: If you start the 7-day free trial, you will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial expires.
  • Auto-Renewal: Your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of that period.
  • Management & Cancellation: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings (Settings › your name › Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
  • Refunds: All payments are processed by Apple. We cannot issue refunds directly; please contact Apple Support for billing issues.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or attempt to compromise the security of the app.

7. Liability

CurioByte is provided "as is." We are not liable for any damages resulting from your use of the app or reliance on the content provided.
